A NEW PERSPECTIVE

as far as the rapture and the end of the world... we have been talking about it a lot and seeing what the bible says. The Bible says in Revelations:

Revelations 21:1-8
Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth; for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and the sea was no more. (2) And I saw the holy city, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. (3) And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, "See, the home of God is among mortals. He will dwell with them; they will be his peoples, and God himself will be with them; (4) he will wipe every tear from their eyes. Death will be no more; mourning and crying and pain will be no more, for the first things have passed away." (5) And the one who was seated on the throne said, "See, I am making all things new." Also he said, "Write this, for these words are trustworthy and true." (6)Then he said to me, "It is done! I am the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end. To the thirsty I will give water as a gift from the spring of the water of life. (7) Those who conquer will inherit these things, and I will be their God and they will be my children. (8) But as for the cowardly, the faithless, the polluted, the murderers. the fornicators, the sorcerers, the idolaters, and all liars, their place will be in the lake that burns with fire and sulfur, which is the second death."

So we as christians are called to be protectors and servants of God. Our goal is to serve and protect the earth. Lets take care of the environment and allow God to work in us. The bible says that Heaven is going to be on earth. So lets take care of it

God is always doing amazing things...

As this semester dwindles down and people are hustling and bustling to get things done last minuet and study for finals, its nice to just stop, step back and take a deep breath. In the midst of all the hustle and bustle, do people more-so focus on what God wants and would have them do, or what they need to do. i will admit that often, i get distracted from keeping up with Gods plans, but i know they are there. God is always there. It reminds me of something someone once told me. Often times people will say; Where is God? If he is here why do i not feel or understand him? and the answer is so simple. God is here, and God is with you.  You ask why is God in the other boat... Well, he is in the same boat, you are just not listening to him and allowing him to come in and take complete control. Its called surrender. Something my high-school principal continually hounded me with. at the time i was like yea whatever. But now, it has really hit me. Am i as a Christian man really surrendering. I believe that the act of surrender, is to completely give yourself up and allow God to do everything his way and in his time. I know that God is going to do that, in his time. I know that God is always doing amazing things not only in my life, but in the lives of others around me. If you look hard enough you will begin to see a miracle from God everyday. there is always a miracle. The fact that we are even breathing is a miracle. Don't believe in miracles? I encourage you to open your eyes and really look for one. i ensure that you will find one right in front of you.

Beyond what we know

As i sit here in the library at Greenville College, i often wonder what does God have in store for me. I am majoring in youth ministry, and i know that is what God has called me to do. However, it seems like there is more. God has something bigger for my life. Apart from interacting with teens, as i do now, i believe that he is calling me away. Im not just saying away from the typical Washington or Illinois, i believe he is calling me away from this wonderful Country. There are so many opportunities in Africa, Haiti, Guatemala, Mexico, Dominican Republic, China, and India just to name a few. There is so much suffering beyond what our eyes and ears know. I suppose I have four more years to figure out what God is calling me to do. However, is it too early to hear him now?
